'Celebrating Christmas Traditions Together' at the Versailles Christmas Parade
It's a big weekend in Woodford County as its largest parade of the year rapidly approaches. The theme of this year's parade is 'Creating Christmas Traditions Together', and the City of Versailles is excited to help locals do just that. The Tree Lighting Ceremony (Friday, December 6th @ 5:30) and the Woodford County Festival of Trees (Saturday, December 7th @ 11am) are both annual events that lead up to the Versailles Christmas Parade which begins at 5pm on Saturday.
The tradition of the Kiwanis Pancake breakfast at First Christian Church continues Saturday from 7am to Noon. The Woodford County Homemakers will have Secret Santa at the Ag Resource Building (10am - 1pm) for children ages 4-12. And the City will offer free horse and carriage rides downtown, available from 1:30 to 4:30. Carriage ride pick up will be located at Community Trust Bank.
Parade goers can expect to see lots of floats, antique cars and trucks, Girl and Boy Scouts, mustangs, emergency responder vehicles, a solar car, Woodford County High School Marching Band, Kentucky State Marching Band, Santa & Mrs. Claus and many more! Mayor Brian Traugott and local attorney Phyllis Mattingly will MC the event, with local Tim Goins as the DJ. You'll also be able to find kettle corn, coffee and hot chocolate on Main Street.
We'll see you in downtown Versailles this weekend!
